A large 1300m2 block, with facility for tennis court, swimming pool and outbuilding set the scene for the initial concept design. The location of the main building footprint as far forward on the site was necessary to allow space for these facilities while the vertical zoning provides a functional yet engaging 3 bedroom home for a young family.

Project Description

The natural contours of the site enabled us to create a podium for the main living spaces to take advantage of the extensive northern exposure and overlook the tennis court and pool from the kitchen, meals and family room. These spaces seamlessly connect to the outdoor alfresco zone which in turn provides a viewing and entertainment deck. A solar pergola enables this space to provide enjoyment through all seasons as an outdoor room.

The clients requested a high quality finish throughout the interiors. A simple palette provides a neutral aesthetic, while quality materials are used throughout with Spanish limestone flooring, walnut door frames and timber veneer cabinetwork. The extensive use of glass combined with varying volumetric spaces provides a light filled, dynamic and uplifting experience for daily living. Light and space become the overriding key elements for the enjoyment of the home.
