Project Description

The brief called for a 2 storey residence to be constructed on a North/South block with street access at both ends.

The design intent was to create a series of courtyards, which would inturn provide the focus for the interiors within the residence at both levels. This allows an almost complete transparency through the building which may be controlled by the owners.

Movement within the residence is always towards light and view. The external face brickwork is a pattern of standard cream and red bricks which reflects the areas historic ethnic aesthetic.

The buildings general aesthetic challenges and questions the traditional perceived domestic aesthetic.
